Literature Text

You were an outcast. Needing a job to make money, you decided to listen to your friend Alfred in taking a job as his best friends secretary. You would attend meetings with him, fax his paperwork, make his phone calls, etc, etc. At the moment you were getting ready for your coffee shop lunch date kind of thing? Well anyway, it was you meeting the ever-so-famous Arthur Kirkland. Your only problem was... Well... Your look. Naturally, you were already nervous on meeting your new employer, but more nervous about his reaction to your look. Most people were either scared, thought you were a freak, or were embarrassed to be around you
Instead of Hollister, American Eagle, and all other god forbid brand name clothes, you wore thrift or clothes you made. Black, Victorian style or lace. You loved to tease your hair big and apply heavy and dark makeup. Chains and zippers lined your clothes, you painted your nails black and carried a parasol with you in the sun so you stayed pale. You were a goth, and proud of it. And lucky for you, Alfred respected that. The reason you were friends was that originally you used to work at a thrift store that he owned for a period of time, and when it closed down he decided to hang around you. It took a while, but you eventually gave up on avoiding the perky blond and actually gave him a chance. Now he was your best friend.
You had just finished applying your last heavy coat of blood red lipstick. Why not have some color today?
"HAAAAAAAAY!!!!" Alfred yelled as he rang the doorbell.
"What?" You spat as you answered it, grabbing your favorite parasol and swinging it over your shoulder.
"Good, your ready. We need to go." He gestured to his bright red convertible.
    "I hate your car."
"I know!" He laughed and he jogged to open the passenger door. Your car ride was silent, minus his loud, crappy, rap music. Finally (but not soon enough) you arrived at the coffee shop.
Silently you got out of the car. As Alfred was retrieving his coat from the back seat you looked at yourself in the window. Smiling, you thought you looked like a Gothic Lolita doll. Adorable! Alfred stepped out next to you and looked at himself in the window, then shook his head to get a few hair strands out of his face. "He's already in there, just texted him. I hope your ready, (Name). Arthur's kind of like you in a way. You're both surprisingly my best friends." And with that, you entered.
The smell of coffee beans filled the air, and you took it in with ease. It reminded you of books. You followed Arthur to the table in the back corner, where a feminine yet manly, short, blonde man was sitting, reading a book of poetry and drinking tea. England, duh! Alfred and you made your way around a few circular tables then pulled up two chairs. "Hey man!" Alfred greeted Arthur.
Arthur looked up, into Alfred's eyes. "Idiot. People are staring." Only you knew that they weren't staring at them, because like usual, all eyes were on you. They were always on you. "You must be..." Arthur's jaw dropped when he finally gazed at you. "Uh... Ms. (Name) (Last name)? It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Arthur Kirkland, your new boss." Nice save.
"Right..." You held out your hand, and with little hesitation, he shook it. You talked about normal stuff, hours, world meetings, the slow printer, etc. Alfred soon lost interest, and said that he was going to his brothers house.
"What a git." Arthur mumbled after Alfred left. "You should see him at world meetings." He joked. Then he tried to imitate how annoying Alfred could get, boasting about how much of a hero he is. Surprisingly, you were laughing. But your fun ended after Arthur got a call from someone named Francis, begging Arthur to come over. You said it was fine, got your schedule, and the two of you parted.
Work was normal, despite you and Arthur's random small talk, and the fact that whenever you were around him you found yourself blushing. After maybe, a few weeks of working with Arthur, you would get that feeling in your heart, the one where you would start shaking. Whilst writing in your journal, which was now filled with pages and pages of "Arthur this" and "Arthur that", you finally got it. You were falling for the British gentleman.
The next day, he scared the crap out of you, to simply put it. He had snaked his hands up around your hips, wrapping them around you. "What the fu-" You yelled. "Oh... Um... Mr. Kirkland? What are you... Uh... Doing?" Your cheeks heated up.
"You can call me Arthur, love." His voice sent shivers down your spine.
"Mr. Kirk- Arthur... What's going on?" You somehow stuttered out.
"I love you." He stated. Your heart skipped a beat. He pulled back, turning around to look into your deep (eye color) eyes. "I know this is really sudden... But... For a while I've just been thinking about you so much. This is really cheesy, I know. But would you please... Take a chance with me...?" His voice sounded distance and desperate.
At first you choked, but then slowly nodded yes. Arthur smiled, his green eyes beaming. This was going to be the best job ever.
